Attorney at Law - Assistant Professor at the University of Thessaly (Department of Planning and Regional Development)
Marios Haidarlis is a lawyer and associate professor at the University of Thessaly, in the Department of Spatial Planning, Urban Planning, and Regional Development, where he teaches the course “Law of Urban Planning, Spatial Planning, and the Environment.” His research interests focus on the relationship between law, space and the environment, legal tools for spatial and environmental planning, legislative policies on spatial planning, urban planning, and the environment, and the relationship between these policies and the concept of justice. He has authored and published a many articles in Greek and international journals. He has also published three books related to his aforementioned academic interests; with his most recent book, published in 2026, addressing the Special Spatial Planning Frameworks of Tourism, Industry, Renewable Energy, and Aquaculture. At the same time, he has for many years provided legal and attorney services before all types of judicial bodies on cases involving development, spatial planning, urban planning, and construction, as well as advisory and broader consulting services on related matters to entities in the public and private sectors.
