Chief Scientist and Senior Aquaculture Advisor in the Technology Division at Norwegian Research Centre (NORCE)

Prof. Lars Ebbesson, a Chief Scientist & Senior Aquaculture Advisor from the Norwegian Research Centre (NORCE) and Program Director for Aquaculture & Fisheries @ the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) Oceanopolis. He has a passion for enabling sustainable and digital solutions in all aquaculture production. His research over the last 30 years has covered many basic and applied aspects of fish biology, mainly in salmon, integrating neuroscience, endocrinology, physiology and behavior to address how environment impacts development, smoltification, stress, welfare, robustness, behavior and appetite. He has over the years led numerous centers, networks and projects bringing researchers and industries together with an interdisciplinary approach to solving industry challenges.
